Biography

Professor Andrew Bernard is Kadas T'90 Distinguished Professor at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He is Director of the Forum for Research in Empirical International Trade (freit.org) a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (Cambridge, US), and a research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (Paris, France). Professor Bernard studies firm responses to globalization. In addition to being published in top academic journals such as the American Economic Review, the Quarterly Journal of Economics and the Review of Economic Studies, his research has been featured on CNN, CNBC, Good Morning America, MSNBC, NPR's Morning Edition, the Marketplace Morning Report, the BBC, and in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, the Economist, Nikkei, Fortune, and Business Week.

Current areas of research include:

  • Firms in production networks: Suppliers and customers as firm capital; Firm size in a production network; Estimating productivity with buyers and suppliers; Knowledge spillovers across firms.
