Biography

Professor Stephen Gibbons is Professor of Economic Geography and Head of Department at the Department of Geography and Environment, London School of Economics where he teaches urban economics and methods for spatial analysis. His research relates to spatial issues in the economics of education, transport infrastructure, environmental amenities, housing markets, labour markets, health and crime, with special emphasis on empirical methods that aim to understand causality and inform policy.
