Biography

Giulia Giupponi is Assistant Professor of Public Economics at Bocconi University. She received a Ph.D. in Economics from the London School of Economics and was a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Institute for Fiscal Studies. Her research is in labor and public economics, with a focus on social insurance and labor market policies. She is an Editorial Board Member of the Review of Economic Studies and recipient of an ERC Starting Grant.

Current areas of research include:

  • Labour market institutions and wage setting: employment and distributional impacts of minimum wages; firm responses to labour regulation.
  • Social insurance and worker protection: Unemployment insurance; short-time work schemes; policy design in response to labour market shocks.
  • Pension reform and retirement behaviour: Retirement incentives; benefit levels; public support for pension reforms.
