Congratulations to Anna Valero, distinguished policy fellow at LSE and director of CEP's growth programme, who has been appointed as industrial strategy adviser to the chancellor.

Dr Valero, a growth and productivity expert, was previously on leave from LSE working as a member of the chancellor's council of economic advisers and was extensively involved in the development and publication of the Industrial Strategy White Paper.

Her research focuses on industrial strategy, innovation and its diffusion, sustainable growth and the economic impact of universities.
