Professor John Van Reenen, Ronald Coase chair in economics and former director of the Centre for Economic Performance, has been recognised as one of the world's most influential researchers in economics and business.
The highly-cited researchers list, compiled by the Web of Science group, identifies scientists and social scientists who have demonstrated significant influence through publishing multiple highly-cited papers during the last decade.
In 2019, fewer than 6,300 or 0.1 per cent, of the world's researchers across 21 research fields have earned this distinction. The 2019 list includes researchers at more than 1,200 institutions in more than 60 countries - and includes 23 Nobel Laureates.
