VoxEU: Patri budoucnost statnimu kapitalismu? / Does the future belong to state capitalism?

The achievements of the Chinese and Vietnamese economies lead to a debate on state capitalism as a viable model of further development. Economists Leonardo Baccini, Giammario Impullitti and Edmund Malesky present on VoxEU the results of their study focusing on the impact of state-owned companies on the economy as a whole. Indeed, the key feature of state capitalism is precisely these societies and it is therefore worth asking what role they really play, how they react to market pressures and whether they are an obstacle or an engine of growth.
