Congratulations to Noam Yuchtman, Hayek Professor of Political Economy at LSE and senior associate in CEP’s growth programme, who has been elected as a new Fellow of the British Academy. 

He is among 92 new Fellows of the British Academy, all recognised for their outstanding contributions to humanities and the social sciences. 

Professor Yuchtman studies topics in the fields of political economy, development economics and economic history. His current area of research examines how education, legal and political institutions, and social interactions shape human capital, labour markets, and economic and political behaviour. It also explores the role of the state in promoting economic growth, innovation, and political participation.

Three other LSE academics have also been made Fellows: Benjamin Moll, Sir John Hicks Chair and professor of economics, Stephanie Rickard, professor of political economy, and Youngjin Yoo, professor of information systems and innovation.
