Biography

Dr Joao Pessoa is Brazilian and completed his PhD in economics at LSE in 2015. He is now an assistant professor at the Sao Paulo School of Economics-FGV and an international associate at the Centre for Economic Performance.

Current areas of research include:

Research interests include international trade, industrial organization and applied micro. Among other research projects, I am currently studying the effects of the recent surge in Chinese export growth on the UK labour market, and the way in which climate change may affect farmers in developing countries through its impact on yield volatility.
