Biography

Hugo is an Assistant Professor at University of Porto and a Guest Teacher at Department of Management of LSE. He completed the PhD in Economics at LSE (2021). Currently, he serves as the Principal Economic Advisor of the Portuguese Prime-Minister, and Portuguese Single Market Sherpa.

Current areas of research include:

  • The institutional framework of the market and its influence on labour market outcomes and dynamics.
  • The impact of labour market policies in shaping labour market outcomes.
  • How wages are defined.
  • Drivers of Housing Prices.
  • How transport innovations impact property values.
