Biography

Stephen is an Assistant Professor in Environmental Economics in the Department of Geography & Environment at the London School of Economics. He is also a Faculty Associate at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment.

Current areas of research include:

  • Energy economics and the clean energy transition: electricity markets; utility regulation; the political economy of renewable energy deployment; barriers to low-carbon technology adoption
  • Environmental impacts and policy evaluation: impact of climate change on appliance adoption and electricity use; economic costs of air pollution; effectiveness of emissions trading schemes and low emissions zones
