Biography
Niki Barbas is a Predoctoral Research Assistant at the Centre for Economic Performance of the London School of Economics. Prior to joining CEP, she completed a BSc and MSc in Economic and Social Sciences in Bocconi University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of international economics, labour economics, growth and innovation. She is working on several projects under the supervision of Henry Overman and Mimosa Distefano, as well as John Van Reenen and Anna Valero.
Current areas of research include:
- Spatial economics and growth: Spatial productivity disparities and national productivity.
- International economics: The effect of protectionism on innovation.
