Biography
Dr Sara Bagagli is an Assistant Professor in Real Estate Economics and Finance at the Department of Geography and Environment at LSE. Prior to joining the department, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Economics at Harvard University. She obtained her PhD in Economics at the University of Zurich. Her research aims at contributing to our understanding of what drives the (unequal) distribution of people and economic activity across space, with a focus on the role of transportation infrastructure and urban forms.
Current areas of research include:
- Spatial sorting and urban forms: segregation; neighbourhood choice; accessibility costs and benefits
- Spatial sorting and transportation infrastructures: long-term effects of transportation policies; local economic development
- Political economy of transportation investments: welfare effects; determinants shaping transportation policy decisions
