Biography

Dr Martina Manara is a Lecturer in Urban Planning at the Bartlett School of Planning at UCL. Her research explores new analytic and methodological frameworks to study informal land governance in developing cities. Her joint research at CEP evaluates the effects of urban planning and sites-and-services in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. She is a coordinator of the Urbanisation and Development Study Group at DSA. Between 2021 and 2022, Martina was a Research Officer, an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow and a Guest Lecturer at the LSE. In 2023, she became a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow in the School of Geography and Planning at the University of Sheffield.
