Biography
Lisa Beihy Pacheco is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Economics, LSE. She holds an MSc in Economics from PUC-Rio and a BSc in Economics from the University of Sao Paulo. Her main fields of interest are Environmental Economics, Development, and Industrial Organisation. Her research interests lie at the intersection of these fields, particularly in the topics of green industrial policy and environment topics, within the context of developing countries. Her main research focus is the role of firms in leading the green transition, and the place of policy in providing incentives.
Current areas of research include:
- Green technology adoption: Policy and dynamics of solar generation adoption by firms in Brazil
- Violence and the Amazon: The impact of international drug trafficking routes on deforestation and illegal economic networks in the Brazilian Amazon
- Environmental regulation and the illegal housing market: Policy commitment, firm collusion and illegal construction in environmentally protected areas
