Abhijit Tagade is a third year PhD student at LSE. Prior to LSE, he completed the Master APE at Paris School of Economics and EHESS where he specialized in theory and economic history. He also holds an MA from Columbia University, an MA in Education from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Madras. He did his predoctoral research at the Collège de France and worked as a Research Associate at Harvard Business School, where he worked on projects related to taxation, innovation and entrepreneurial finance.

Current areas of research include:

  • Economics of innovation: network formation among inventors, competition and specialization in R&D, organizational strategy of innovation, entrepreneurial finance, spillovers in financial markets
  • Human capital: long run unequal opportunity, direction of technological change, uneven growth
