Biography

Animesh is a PhD student in Economics at the London School of Economics. He has previously held research and policy positions at the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC), and J-PAL South Asia. Animesh holds an MA in Research Methods from the University of Chicago, and a BTech in Materials Science Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.

Current areas of research include:

• Water trade in the presence of distortions in agricultural markets in India
• Water transfer infrastructure and structural change in colonial India
• General equilibrium effects of distortions in industrial location choice
