Biography
Javad is a PhD candidate in Economics at the LSE, where he received his MRes in 2020. He is also a research scholar at IFS. Prior to starting his PhD, Javad worked as an economic researcher on several policy projects. His research interests lie in the field of applied econometrics. He employs a diverse set of empirical methods, borrowing techniques from machine learning, natural language processing (NLP) and web scraping, to study real-world problems across a broad range of topics.
Current areas of research include:
- Labour/Urban: investigating the impact of the expansion of food delivery platforms on the economy
- Political Economy: studying the political economy effects of immigration
