Biography

Dr Ningyuan Jia is an Assistant Professor at the University of International Business and Economics in China. He completed his PhD in Economics at the London School of Economics; he also obtained a Master degree in Economics. His main areas of interest are international trade, development and urban economics.

Current areas of research include:

  • How regions within a country gain unevenly from opening to trade. Gains from trade differ substantially across regions depending on their comparative advantage and local demographic characteristics.
  • Identify the effect of waste bans for import and export countries.
