Biography

Richard Davies is a Professor in Practice at the School of Public Policy and is the Director of the Growth Co-Lab at LSE, in a joint initiative with Harvard. From 2024, he is Director of the Growth Programme at the Centre for Economic Performance. He initially joined the Centre in 2016 as Chief of Staff of the LSE Growth Commission. Prior to that he was Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers at HM Treasury, an economist and speechwriter at the Bank of England, and Economics Editor of The Economist.
