Biography
Dr Jan David Bakker is Assistant Professor at Bocconi University and an Associate of the Institute for Fiscal Studies. Before this he was a Research Fellow at University College London. Jan received his PhD from the University of Oxford in 2019. He has worked for the European Central Bank (2015-2016) and as a consultant on the effects of Brexit on supply chains.
Current areas of research include:
- The effects of globalization across metropolitan cities and smaller towns
- (Global) value chains and how they shape the distribution of economic activity across firms and locations
- The effects of regulation on the UK rental market
