    The UEA Summer School is designed for PhD students with an interest in urban economics including inter alia housing, real estate, transportation, local public good provision, the spatial distribution of activities, economic geography, and urban or regional policy. The objective of the summer school is to offer an intensive training program for interested PhD students. The summer school will provide an opportunity for students to learn about the research frontier in urban economics, discuss their own research with leading researchers in the field in a relaxed and open atmosphere and meet some of the future stars in the field.

    ACCOMMODATION

    Private accommodation

  • Air BnB offers a various types of accommodation for a wide range of budgets. The venue postcode is WC2A 3PH (if searching by proximity).
  • Hostels

    London has a number of modern hostels, especially around King’s Cross St Pancras, and Bloomsbury. Prices range from £18 pernight for a bed in a shared dorm to £120 per night for a private room (for 3-8 people). Examples:

  • Generator (King’s Cross)
  • Smart Hostels (Russel Square)
  • Low cost hotels
    There are a range of contemporary low-cost hotels in the city which offer small but clean, stylish rooms to guests. These can range anywhere from £60-£150 per night (depending on demand). Examples:

  • Hub by Premier Inn (King’s Cross, Goodge Street or Covent Garden)
  • Z Hotel group (Covent Garden or Shoreditch are cheapest)
  • Travelodge (various properties at King’s Cross, Euston, Covent Garden and Farringdon)
  • Premier Inn (larger rooms than their Hub range and at a similar price bracket - nearest are Red Lion Street and Euston Road)
  • Other Hotels
    The nearest hotel is Club Quarters Lincoln’s Inn Fields (they also have branches at St Paul’s and Trafalgar Sqaure. Rooms range from £99-£250 per night.
