About this event
The first SERC conference - to be held at LSE on 7th/8th May 2009 - will include sessions devoted to spatial economic research undertaken by PhD students, as well as others presenting work by SERC members/associates.

The first SERC conference - to be held at LSE on 7th/8th May 2009 - will include sessions devoted to spatial economic research undertaken by PhD students, as well as others presenting work by SERC members/associates.
Thursday 7th May features the PhD Programme Sessions
Friday 8th May features papers from SERC members & associates, a guest lecture from Gilles Duranton and a Policy Panel Session on "Spatial Policy in Recession". Panel members include Kate Barker (Monetary Policy Committee), Grant Fitzner (CLG) and Michael Keoghan (BERR) .

NOTES FOR SPEAKERS:
- Speakers are allocated 20 minutes for their presentation to be followed by 10 minutes for discussion.
- The guest lecturer is allocated 45 minutes for the presentation which will then be followed by 15 minutes of discussion.
- Panel members will be allocated 5 minutes each for initial contributions which will then be followed by 45 minutes of general discussion.
Phd Conference Dinner
For those of you attending the PhD Conference dinner on Thursday 7th May, please note that it will take place at 7.00pm at Masala Zone, 48 Floral Street, Covent Garden, London WC2E 9DA.
