About this event
An in-person conference on Regional Economic Inequalities at Kiel Institute's Berlin office on 3-4 September 2025.
The project Linking National and Regional Inequalities examines trends in geographic income inequality across five high-income countries—Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States—since the 1970s. We have assembled an international team of experts, bringing together geographers with experience in studying spatial inequality and economists specialising in the measurement of national income inequality. Our ultimate goal is to use this project as the foundation for a global database that provides comprehensive information on inequalities between places. We envision this resource serving both researchers, seeking to understand the causes of geographic income inequality, and policymakers, interested in how their country compares to others.
As part of the conference, we are pleased to announce the launch of a new database on international regional inequalities, developed through the project Linking National and Regional Inequalities.
Kenote speakers
Naomi Hausman (The Hebrew University of Jerusalem School of Business)
