Biography

Dr Myra Mohnen is an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa. She is a Research Fellow at IZA@LISER Network, and the ECONtribute: Markets & Public Policy at the Universities of Bonn and Cologne. She is also a Visiting Associate at the Grantham Research Institute at the London School of Economics. Her research interests revolves around the creation and diffusion of scientific knowledge and in particular the role of social network in these knowledge flow and consequently promoting innovation.

Current areas of research include:

  • Economics of science: the role of AI on the direction of science; the role of connectivity on productivity; gender inequality among scientists
  • Labour economics: the role of infrastructure and social networks on labour market outcomes including social mobility
