Xavier Jaravel named Best Young Economist of France, 2021

Congratulations to Dr Xavier Jaravel who has been named the Best Young Economist of France, 2021 by Le Monde and Le Cercle des économistes.
The prize is awarded to a French economist under the age of 41 who combines expertise and active participation in public debate.
Dr Jaravel, 31, is an associate professor in the Department of Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science and an associate of the Centre for Economic Performance.
His work focuses on innovation and productivity, with related work on trade and applied econometrics.
Previous winners of the prize include Thomas Piketty, professor of economics at the Paris School of Economics and research affiliate at LSE (2002), Professor Camille Landais, professor of economics at LSE (2016) and Gabriel Zucman, associate professor of economics at UC Berkeley and former CEP associate (2018).
