Overview: This lecture will look at Immigration and its economic effects including the contribution to population growth. Why does housing not keep up with population growth? More generally why do we find it so hard to house our population decently?

About the Speaker: Steve Nickell is Warden of Nuffield College Oxford and a Member of the Budget Responsibility Committee at the OBR. A former Professor of Economics at the LSE, in recent years he has also held places on the board of the UK Statistics Authority, the National Housing and Planning Advice Unit, the Monetary Policy Committee and the Economic Research Advisory Panel of the Welsh Assembly Government.
