As the United States becomes increasingly politically polarised, Gaia Dossi and Marta Morando find that inventors split along party lines with Democrat-affiliated inventors more likely to patent technologies related to climate change or women's health than Republican counterparts, while Republican-affiliated inventors are more likely to patent weapons.
