Written evidence submitted by Paul Cheshire to the planning and infrastructure bill committee

The Bill is to be welcomed as an indication of government commitment to reform of our planning system and to facilitate building and investment but needs substantial strengthening if it is to effect real change. In addition, if they are to work, most of the planning proposals have to have a functioning planning system to work with and that can only be achieved with radical reform rather than piecemeal improvements.
