Financial stability and monetary policy are once again topical in the wake of rising inflation and higher interest rates, which have severely affected bank balance sheets, triggering a flight of deposits and government intervention. These topics were discussed in a conference hosted by the Financial Markets Group (FMG) at LSE in honour of its co-founder, former Professor and Bank of England official Charles Goodhart.
