THERESA May is to speed up the process of ending freedom of movement for EU citizens by bringing forward the date when the Government will publish its proposed new immigration rules. … Up until recently, the Home Office was saying new immigration rules would be informed by a report being prepared by the migration advisory committee chaired by Professor Alan Manning. However, given that this is due to be unveiled in September, publishing the white paper in July would pre-empt this.
