Objective, brief and non-technical, CEP BREXIT Analysis is a series of background briefings on the relationship between the UK and the European Union. First launched in February 2016 to inform public debate ahead of the referendum in June, the series continues with briefings on key issues following the referendum vote to leave the EU. The series discusses the research evidence on a range of topics including living standards in the UK and overseas, trade, immigration, foreign investment, inequality, regulation, the labour market and trade negotiations. These analyses are provided by some of our expert researchers and draw on some of our past and current research. Earlier analyses of elections are available: including the 2015, 2010 and 2005 UK General Elections, the 2012 US Presidential Election, European Elections and Scottish Referendum. We will try to answer enquiries relating to this work whenever possible. Press inquiries to Romesh Vaitilingam (Tel: 07768-661095 Email: romesh@vaitilingam.com), or Helen Durrant (Tel: 020 7955 7395 Email: h.durrant@lse.ac.uk). NOTE The Centre for Economic Performance (CEP) is a politically independent Research Centre at the London School of Economics. The CEP has no institutional views, only those of its individual researchers. Professor John Van Reenen, who was CEP's director from 2003 to the summer of 2016, did not (and does not) support joining the Euro. CEP's Brexit work is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England and the UK Economic and Social Research Council. As a whole the CEP, receives less than 5% of its funding from the European Union. The EU funding is from the European Research Council for academic projects and not for general funding or consultancy. |
