Christopher Pissarides is the School Professor of Economics and Political Science and Regius Professor Designate at the London School of Economics. In 2010 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for his work with Peter Diamond and Dale Mortensen on the analysis of markets with search frictions. He was recently appointed chair of the National Economic Council of Cyprus, and was knighted for his services to economics in the Queen's Birthday Honours list, June 2013.
