Biography
Mary Olson is an Occasional Research Assistant at the Centre for Economic Performance at the London School of Economics. She holds a BA from Columbia University in Economics and Human Rights. Mary is a 2024 Marshall Scholar, and is currently an MSc student in Economic History at LSE. Her research interests center around labour inequality and deindustrialization, particularly the local labour market effects of occupational decline. She is currently working with Professors Stephen Machin and Nikhil Data at the CEP, investigating the impact of labour union initiatives on wages and zero-hour contracts.
