Biography
Dr Claudia Gentile is a Postdoctoral Visiting Fellow in the POID at the Centre for Economic Performance, London School of Economics. She is part of the Economics of Environment and Energy (EEE) program in STICERD. She earned her PhD in economics from the University of Zurich. Claudia is a macroeconomist focusing on issues concerning the clean energy transition, innovation, and economic growth.
Current areas of research include:
- Clean energy transition: aggregate substitutability between clean and dirty energy sources, the intermittency problem of clean energy sources, the role of policy
- Innovation: market incentives to innovate on clean energy technologies, impact of Chinese subsidies policies on solar innovation, optimal R&D policies
- Economic growth: clean growth, the intangible economy
