Biography

Dr Carolin Ioramashvili is a Lecturer in Innovation Policy at the Science Policy Research Unit, University of Sussex. She received her PhD in Economic Geography from the LSE in 2021. After completing her PhD, Carolin was a research fellow at City-REDI, University of Birmingham. At WWCLEG, Carolin works on a demonstration project that evaluates the impact of UK Enterprise Zones on the performance of firms.

Current areas of research include:

  • Regional income inequality: drivers of regional earnings, internal migration and sorting
  • Innovation: the effects of innovation on local labour markets, different income and skill groups
  • Competition: the effects of market power on local labour markets, merger markets and regional economic growth
