Alongside his part-time role at the CEP, Juan is completing his MSc in Local Economic Development at LSE. His research interests include the local and regional economic impacts of transport infrastructures, particularly high-speed rail, plus the way in which labour-market and welfare policies affect low-income households. He is working with Prof. Guy Michaels on a project to investigate the relationship between sea level rise and development of coastal flood-plains. Prior to his studies, Juan worked for three years as a senior analyst for Policy in Practice, a London-based welfare policy consultancy and think-tank.
