Dennis Novy begins role as chief economist at the Foreign Office

Congratulations to Dennis Novy, professor of economics at the University of Warwick and research associate in CEP's trade programme, who has been appointed as chief economist and director of analysis at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
Professor Novy will be providing economic advice and analysis to ministers. He will also supporting the development of economic expertise throughout the department.
His research has focused on international trade, international finance and macroeconomics. It includes analysis of the behaviour of international trading firms in both advanced and emerging economies, the economic impact of trade policy and exchange rate fluctuations.
Professor Novy is on secondment from the University of Warwick.
