Management and Organisational Practices and their Impact on Productivity and Growth

Work will revolve around the following five aspects which affect economic growth:

This will concentrate on understanding and explaining management and organisational practices in firms across Europe, the US and Asia. At present there are no comprehensive international datasets on management practices, making the analysis of their contribution to international growth and productivity differences close to impossible. We will collect international management data to allow us to address for the first time questions such as: How do management and organisational practices vary across Europe, US and Asia? How much do these practices matter for productivity and growth, both directly and through their role in innovation, the use of ICT and the response to globalisation? What determines the spread of these practices across firms - in particular, what role does policy play?
