Biography:I am a part-time Professor of Economics at the University of Sussex since June 2013-. I am currently a Research Fellow at the Institute for Fiscal Studies and a Visiting Professor of Economics at University College, London. Since 2009 I am a Member of Senior Salaries Review Body. Previous academic positions: Professor of Economics, University of Nottingham (1998-2012), Professor of Economics, Queen Mary College, London (1995-98), Professor of Economics at University of Kent at Canterbury (1988-1995); other academic positions held at University of Kent at Canterbury (1977-95), University of Reading (1975-77), University of Strathclyde (1974-75), University of Addis Ababa (1972-74).
